I have a feeling I’m not alone when I confess that my husband struggles with getting the best nutrients, especially when he’s busy at work and traveling. What caught my eye in my research deep dive was a double-blind, randomized, placebo-controlled clinical trial assessing 30 healthy adults ages 21-49 over the course of 1 month. In this study, AG1 was shown to enrich the gut microbiome, more than doubling the levels of healthy bacteria like Bifidobacterium bifidum and Lactobaccilus acidophilus, known to support digestion by helping the breakdown of food, reducing bloating and bolstering digestive regularity.

Moreover, in a single-arm observational study conducted on 35 healthy adults ages 25-48 assessing the self-perceived efficacy of AG1 over 3 months, researchers found that AG1 seemed to positively impact feelings of calm, energy and improved digestion.

And to add to the body of evidence supporting AG1’s benefits, the SHIME In Vitro Study, which simulates the human gastrointestinal system demonstrated that, in vitro, AG1 improved markers of gut health, including increasing levels of short-chain fatty acids (SCFAs) produced by beneficial gut microbes as well as serotonin production in the gut. These SCFAs can help nourish the cells lining the digestive tract, promoting a healthier gut barrier and improved nutrient absorption. Serotonin production in the gut may help relieve occasional constipation. A different in vitro study also found that the powder form of AG1 digested faster with a greater amount of minerals available for absorption compared to a traditional multivitamin in tablet form.

Energy Production: A Real Benefit?
